Demo board LT8640A 42V, 5A step-down Mute switch spread spectrum FM

     The ADI DC3099A Demo Board for the LT8640A is a 42V, 5A step-down silent switcher with spread spectrum frequency modulation and includes the LT8640A. The LT8640A provides a compact, ultra-low emission, high efficiency, high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator. The DC3099A produces 5V output from 5.7V to 42V inputs, while the LT8640A can work up to 3.4V inputs.

     The ADI DC3099A Demo board provides a default frequency of 2MHz. The LT8640A switching frequency can be programmed in the 200kHz to 3MHz range using an oscillator resistor or an external clock. The LT8640A Sync/mode pin on the demo board is grounded by default (JP1 in the BURST position) for low-ripple BURST mode operations. Spread spectrum mode and forced continuous mode can be selected by mobile JP1 shunt. Users can synchronize the external clock by moving JP1 to FCM/SYNC and applying the external clock to the SYNC terminal.
