
Dialog Semiconductor, a supplier of highly integrated power management, audio, AC/DC power conversion, charging, and Bluetooth low power technologies, announced the introduction of the DA740x, a highly integrated audio codec chip with the industry's best active noise cancellation (ANC) performance, providing the fastest audio performance in the rapidly growing wireless headphone market regardless of any environment.
The global wireless headphone market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 20%, generating approximately $34 billion in revenue by 2024. With active noise reduction fast becoming the de facto standard, Dialog is poised to capture a significant market share with the DA740x product family.
The DA740x series supports feedforward and feedback active noise cancellation topologies, where noise cancellation microphones are located outside or inside the headphone cavity. With its integrated custom filtering capabilities, the DA740x also supports full hybrid mode, combining the best of both worlds to deliver high performance active noise reduction with the best audio quality and the longest battery life. The chip family is independent of the audio interface type, which means it can be used in both wired and wireless applications.
The DA740x's digital implementation and software-based complementary tuning tools help Dialog customers achieve proactive noise reduction designs with fewer external components and faster time-to-market compared to typical analog-based designs. Analog based designs require a lot of analog circuits and element level tuning.
