Dialog introduces the SLG47004 GreenPAK, the first fully configurable advanced simulation system IC

Dialog Semiconductor Corporation announced the launch of the first advanced analog GreenPAK IC SLG47004. The device integrates instrumentation amplifiers with automatic fine-tuning, digital potentiometers, analog switches, and a variety of digital functions with in-system configurable capabilities in a small solution size of 3mm x 3mm, helping design engineers create uniquely complex analog IC designs in minutes and enable simulation and prototyping. The cost is lower than that achieved with discrete devices.

     Dialog Semiconductor, a leading provider of battery and power management, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and industrial edge computing solutions, announced the launch of the first advanced analog GreenPAK IC SLG47004. The device integrates instrumentation amplifiers with automatic fine-tuning, digital potentiometers, analog switches, and a variety of digital functions with in-system configurable capabilities in a small solution size of 3mm x 3mm, helping design engineers create uniquely complex analog IC designs in minutes and enable simulation and prototyping. The cost is lower than that achieved with discrete devices.

 

     Similar to other members of the popular GreenPAK series, the SLG47004 has highly customizable features that make it easy for design engineers to create a large number of new features. For example, the SLG47004 contains a low offset CMOS operational amplifier with an 8MHz bandwidth that can be configured as an instrumentation amplifier. The digital potentiometer can be used to automatically adjust the imbalance of the analog system, or can be used as a 10-bit 100kOhm digital rheostat alone. All of these flexible configurability combine to create a single-chip IC system solution that enables a cost-effective, energy-efficient complete analog system solution or advanced Analog Front End (AFE).

     The SLG47004 is a perfect alternative to designs with programmable gain amplifiers, instrumentation amplifiers, digital potentiometers, and analog switches. Common applications of the SLG47004 include analog interfaces for sensors, AFEs for analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), tunable analog filters, and more. Other potential sensor interface applications include pressure sensors, photodetectors, and force-sensitive button interfaces.

 

     The GreenPAK Designer package for SLG47004 enables fast, accurate, and complete simulation of operational amplifiers, digital potentiometers, analog switches, comparators, and all digital functional blocks, including some external system components. This helps design engineers to simulate circuit nodes both inside and outside the IC.
