Digilent's Measurement Computing USB-1608G is a USB-based high-speed multi-function DAQ device. The device provides 16 SE/8 DIFF analog inputs, 8 digital I/O channels, 2 counter inputs, and 1 timer output. It is powered by USB and does not require an external power source. The USB-1608G offers 16-bit analog inputs that can be software-selected for 8 Diffs or 16 SE inputs, and supports input ranges of ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2 V, and ±1 V, with software selection for each channel. It has a maximum sampling rate of 250 kS/s.
The USB-1608G series devices have an external digital trigger input, and the trigger mode can be selected by software in either edge or level sensitive mode. Users can configure edge sensitive mode for rising or falling edges. In level sensitive mode, the trigger can be configured to be high or low. The default setting for power-on is edge sensitive, rising edge. Eight two-way digital I/O lines can be configured individually for input or output.
Digital I/O terminals can detect the status of any TTL level input. Users can configure the pull-up (+5 V) or pull-down (0 V) using the onboard jumper. Two 32-bit event counters are provided for TTL pulse counting. The counter accepts input up to 20 MHz. The PWM timer output produces a pulse output with a programmable frequency range of 0.0149 Hz to 32 MHz. Timer output parameters can be selected by software.
Software support includes DAQami, an optional out-of-the-box application for data logging, visualization, and signal generation. The data can be viewed in real time or after collection on a user configurable display.
