Digilent's MCC USB-2404-UI is a 24-bit device for voltage, temperature or bridge sensors

     USB-2404-UI features four synchronous analog inputs capable of measuring voltage, current, thermocouple, RTD, resistance, and bridge-based sensors. Each channel of the device has an A/D, including isolation between channels and system to host. The device is powered by USB and does not require an external power supply. USB-2404-UI offers four individually configurable 24-bit universal analog input channels with integrated signal conditioning.

     All channels were measured simultaneously at speeds of up to 100 S/s per channel. USB-2404-UI can perform voltage (±60 V, ±15 V, ±4 V, ±1 V, ±125 mV), current, thermocouple, RTD (4-wire and 3-wire), resistance (4-wire and 2-wire), and bridg-based sensors (quarter-bridge, half-bridge, and full-bridge) measurements. The range of measurement varies for each type of measurement. USB-2404-UI has built-in current and voltage excitation functions.

     The excitation circuit is protected by overcurrent and overvoltage fault conditions. USB-2404-UI supports Class II TEDS smart sensors and includes a built-in thermistor for cold junction compensation (CJC). The analog prefilter can remove the noise that may exist in the signal before conversion.

     Supports high speed, 60 Hz suppression, 50 Hz suppression, and high resolution timing options. Each option is optimized for a different type of application by using different ADC conversion times. High speed is optimized for high speed applications at the expense of noise suppression, 60 Hz suppression is optimized for 60 Hz noise suppression, 50 Hz suppression is optimized for 50 Hz noise suppression, High resolution is optimized for maximum global noise suppression and provides good suppression of 50 Hz and 60 Hz noise. Each channel has a 6-bit detachable spring connector for field wiring connections.

     Software support includes TracerDAQ, an optional out-of-the-box application for data logging, visualization, and signal generation. The data can be viewed in real time or after collection on a user configurable display. Provides drivers for the most popular applications and programming languages, including Visual C++®, Visual C#®, Visual Basic®,.NET, DASYLab®, LabVIEW™, MATLAB®, and Python™.
