Diode incorporated AP74700Q ideal diode MOSFET controller

     DIODES AP74700Q is an automotive compatible ideal diode MOSFET controller in a SOT26 package that, when used with an appropriate external n-channel power MOSFET, provides a low-loss 20mV forward voltage drop rectifier in unidirectional power paths and reverse voltage. The AP74700Q supports a wide input operating range of 3.2V to 65V, allowing control of many popular DC rail voltages such as 12V, 24V or higher for automotive battery systems. 3.2V input voltage support is suitable for low temperature crank requirements in automotive systems. The AP74700Q can withstand and protect reverse voltage loads as low as -65V.

     The AP74700Q controls the GATE of the MOSFET through a built-in charge pump to adjust the forward voltage of the MOSFET to about 20mV. Its internal gate driver quickly shuts down the MOSFETs during reverse current events and ensures that no DC reverse current flows. &lt fast reverse current blocking response; The 0.75µs makes it suitable for systems with output voltage holding requirements during ISO 7637 pulse tests, as well as power failure and input microshort circuit conditions.

     The AP74700Q's 65V high voltage rating simplifies the system design of automotive ISO 7637 protection. When the enable pin is low, the controller shuts down and produces a typical 0.7 μA current.
