Diodes Incorporated PI4IOE5V6416RQ I/O expander, is a 16-bit universal I/O expander that provides remote I/O expansion for many families of microcontrollers via an i2c bus interface. When additional I/O is required, this I/O expander provides a simple solution while keeping interconnections to a minimum.
The I/O expander provides two-way voltage-level conversion via VDD(I2C_bus), which should be connected to the VDD of the external SCL/SDA line. This I/O expander has an open interrupt INT output pin that changes to LOW when the input state of the GPIO port changes from the input state default register value.
The I/O extender also provides interrupt masking, which allows users to mask interrupts from a single GPIO port that supports AEC-Q100(Level 2), is lead-free and RoHs-compliant. I/O extenders are ideal for sensors, buttons, keyboards, and battery powered mobile application interfaces.
