Diodes' 7-channel DMOS transistor array drives inductive loads while consuming minimum power

     Diodes introduced new transistor array products. ULN62003A consists of seven 500mA rated open drain transistors, in which all source electrodes are connected to the same grounding pin. This high current transistor array can drive a variety of loads, such as solenoids, relays, DC motors and LED displays, mainly for climate control and home appliance design. This product can be used in washing machines, dryers, microwave ovens and air conditioning units.

     The ULN62003A is made from a DMOSFET output transistor with an output voltage drop of only 0.2V. This is far less than the bipolar device compatible with its pins. The resulting power consumption reduction not only minimizes the overall power consumption used, but also alleviates heat-related problems and improves reliability. It can also control more devices and still maintain the required grain temperature.

     The device also supports input voltages as low as -1V, giving it greater flexibility in use and allowing a GND pin to be used to detect overcurrent. This capability further improves the robustness of the system and expands the range of product applications that ULN62003A can address. Each output of the transistor array has a clamped diode to provide protection and improve reliability when driving inductive loads.
