Diodes Incorporated AP25810LQ USB Type-C DFP controller and power switch

     Diodes Incorporated AP25810LQ USB Type-C DFP controller and power switch are designed to monitor USB Type-C Configuration channel (CC) wiring to determine when to connect a USB device. When connected to an upstream port (UFP) component, the AP25810LQ supplies power to the VBUS. It also delivers optional VBUS current source functionality to the UFP via a straight-through CC line. If an electronically labeled cable is used to connect the UFP, the AP25810LQ also applies VCONN power to the cable CC pin. In addition, the switch recognizes when a USB Type-C audio or debug attachment is connected.

     Diodes Inc AP25810LQ Downlink port (DFP) controllers integrate USB power switches with a 3A rated current and consume current of less than 0.7μA (typical value) when the device is not connected. Disabling the high-power 5V power supply when the UFP is not connected through the UFP output enables additional system energy savings in the S4 and S5 system power states. In this mode, the device is capable of being operated by an auxiliary power supply (AUX), which can be a low voltage power supply (3.3V), usually powering the system μC in a low power state (S4 and S5).

     The AP25810LQ 30mΩ power switch has two optional fixed current limits for Type-C current levels. FAULT output signals when the switch is under overcurrent and overheat conditions. LD_DET output controls power management of multiple high-current Type-C ports in environments where all ports do not provide high current (3A) simultaneously.The AP25810LQ comes in a standard green W-QFN3040-20 (Type A1) package with exposed pads for improved heat dissipation and RoHS compliance
