
Diodes has introduced a range of automotive-specification timing crystals that can withstand harsh operating environments and ensure excellent accuracy and reliability in tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), infotainment and telematics, and Advanced Driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The new XRQ crystal is capable of operating at centrifugal forces of up to 1,500g and has passed the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J2657 specification for TPMS, which is now a required safety feature for new vehicles on the global market. The XRQ series of crystals can resist shocks of up to 8,000g, much better than the 1,500g required by the standard. The product is also able to withstand a fall from a height of 1.2 meters, exceeding the industry standard JIS-C0044 drop test.
XRQ crystals meet the requirements of ultrasonic welding processes, which are cleaner than traditional methods, for the manufacture of sealed objects such as TPMS, and for the manufacture of automotive components with high accuracy and reliability requirements.
The XRQ series is suitable for use in automotive applications, whether under the hood or in the passenger seating space. The product is AEC-Q200 certified and available in Grade 1 (-40 ° C to 125 ° C), Grade 2 (-40 ° C to 105 ° C) and Grade 3 (-40 ° C to 85 ° C) temperature ranges. XRQ units are PPAP approved and manufactured in IATF16949 certified production facilities.
The product comes in three standard sizes, with the 3.2mm x 2.5mm XR32Q version supporting frequencies between 12MHz and 66MHz, and the 2.5mm x 2.0mm XR25Q device supporting frequencies between 16MHz and 66MHz. The 2.0mm x 1.6mm XR20Q supports frequencies between 24MHz and 66MHz. The ceramic surface adhesive package is completely sealed and mechanical integrity is ensured.
