Diodes announced a diverse portfolio of products supporting the new PCI Express (PCIe) 5.0 protocol. This includes ReDriver, switcher, clock generator and clock buffer for portable and desktop computing, data center and high performance computing (HPC) product application projects.
In this series of product portfolio, the most notable model is PI3EQX32908. This ReDriver supports the 32Gbps data rate set by the PCIe 5.0 specification, has eight differential channels, and has independent channel configurations. Linearization, output amplitude and flat gain parameters are all programmable, which can minimize signal loss and extend PCB circuit length. It meets the requirements of modern standby. The power consumption of this device can be lower than 5mW under the deep standby mode of its system. In addition to PCIe 5.0 architecture, this ReDriver also supports SAS4 and CXL protocols.
The product launched simultaneously with PI3EQX32908 is one of the first PCIe 5.0 switchers in the industry: PI2DBS32212. This is a two-way dual differential channel device, which provides 2:1 passive multiplexing and demultiplexing functions. This switch has a unique design and industry-leading dynamic electrical characteristics to minimize signal attenuation. The inter bit offset is 3 ps (typical value), and the inter channel offset is only 10 ps (typical value). When operating at 16GHz, it can maintain extremely low insertion loss and return loss, which are -2.7Db and -10.8dB respectively. With 1.8V power supply voltage and small size, this switch is very suitable for portable electronic equipment applications. PI2DBS32212 is also compatible with USB4 Gen 2x1/Gen 3x1 and Thunderbolt ™ 3 Data signal.
In the application of emerging PCIe technology products, PI6CG330440, a PCIe 5.0 clock generator with 19 outputs, is also introduced. Only a single reference input is required to generate 25MHz and 100MHz frequency outputs. This product has 7 outputs dedicated to 100MHz frequency signal and 3 outputs dedicated to 25MHz frequency signal. The other 9 selected outputs can drive 25MHz or 100MHz as required. Its patented design can achieve extremely low jitter performance lower than 50fs.
PI6CB332001A is a 20 output fan out PCIe 5.0 clock buffer that conforms to the Intel DB2000QL specification. When running at PCIe 5.0 architecture speed, this device can achieve minimum additional phase jitter, while the typical value is 20fs RMS. This will provide greater signal integrity margin for engineers to facilitate design.
The output terminals of PI6CG330440 and PI6CB332001A are both crystal loaded terminals, which can greatly reduce the use of external components and save circuit board space. These two products are compatible with Intel CK440Q and Intel DB2000QL, which can directly replace the clock generator/buffer in other server product applications, and also bring higher efficiency.

The PI3EQX32908 is packaged with W-QFN with 62 pins. PI2DBS32212 is packaged with X1QFN with 24 pins, which only occupies 2.5mm x 2.5mm PCB board space. The 100 pin UQFN package of PI6CG330440 has a size of 8mm x 8mm x 0.6mm. The 80 pin aQFN package of PI6CB332001A occupies a space of 6mm x 6mm.
