Diodes Incorporated PI2DPT1021 10Gbps two-way reweight timer is a bit-level reweight timer with receiver Adaptive-Ctle and transmitter 3-tap equalize that compensates channel losses of up to -23dB for 5GHz signal transmission. It supports USB Type-C DP running in alternate mode with the DP 1.4 and USB 3.2 standards.

     Diodes Incorporated PI2DPT1021 10Gbps two-way reweight timer is a bit-level reweight timer with receiver Adaptive-Ctle and transmitter 3-tap equalize that compensates channel losses of up to -23dB for 5GHz signal transmission. It supports USB Type-C™ DP running in alternate mode with the DP 1.4 and USB 3.2 standards. The operation configuration can be programmed through the I2C interface to select 4-channel DP, 2-channel DP/ 1-channel USB 3.2 Gen1x1/Gen2x1, 1/2 channel USB 3.2 Gen1x1/Gen2x1, or USB 3.2 Gen2x2.


     The device uses a universal 1.8V Vdd power supply for good power saving management. For active mode (U0) and power saving mode (U1, U2, U3), it conforms to the USB link power management state. USB Rx monitor continuously monitors the plug status of the TX terminal. The LFPS signal detector detects USB mode LBPM (LFPS based on PWM messages).

 

     In the Displayport operation, the AUX listener will monitor AUX communications for data rate, channel count, swing and preload-reload Settings, and energy efficient D3 mode Settings. The HPD connection signal on the SINK side is set by the PD controller of the system through the I2C register. The integrated AUX/SBU switch automatically maps the Displayport AUX+/- pin to the Type-C SBU1/SBU2 pin.

 

     The bidirectional design provides flexibility if the DFP and UFP signal flows are exchanged. This is a convenient dynamic setting for active cable applications, or it can provide more layout options for signal stream selection. Diodes Incorporated PI2DPT1021 has a bit-level retimer design with signal input to output (< 1ns) with extremely low latency, resulting in good interoperability between various USB and DP devices.
