Diodes Incorporated introduces the ZXGD3108N8, a 40V rated dynamic OR'ing controller, to improve the reliability of uninterruptible power supplies for telecommunications systems, data centers and servers. The new product is designed to fully improve ultra-low on-resistance power MOSFETs, thereby replacing energy-hungry Schottky blocking diodes, effectively reducing operating temperatures and enhancing the integrity of uninterruptible power systems.
By driving the MOSFETs in this way, the new controller also improves the overall system efficiency of standard 12V and 24V common rail systems. The ZXGD3108N8 offers the lowest turn-off voltage threshold compared to any other device in its class. The voltage of the device is less than -3mV, and the tight tolerance of ±2mV can improve the stability and efficiency of the system under light load.
In addition, the controller can be filled with 5A current to ensure that the parallel OR'ing MOSFETs can be discharged as quickly as possible, and to achieve a fast 600ns shutdown time to prevent reverse current and voltage drop on the common rail system. In a typical 12V configuration, the device's static current is set to less than 400µA and standby power consumption is less than 5mW.
