Diodes' PCIe packet switchers meet advanced functional requirements for automotive products

Diodes announced the launch of PI7C9X2G304EVQ and PI7C9X2G404EVQPCIe 2.0 packet switchers with 3-port / 4-channel and 4-port / 4-channel capabilities, respectively. Both packet switchers are automotive compliant and can be used in emerging applications such as telematics /ADAS, navigation systems, in-car wireless routers, and V2V and V2X communications.

     Diodes, Inc. announced the introduction of PI7C9X2G304EVQ and PI7C9X2G404EVQPCIe 2.0 packet switchers with 3-port / 4-channel and 4-port / 4-channel capabilities, respectively. Both packet switchers are automotive compliant and can be used in emerging applications such as telematics /ADAS, navigation systems, in-car wireless routers, and V2V and V2X communications.

 

     These components are designed to provide simple solutions that support advanced capabilities in the automotive industry and improve fan-out of PCIe ports on SOCs, ASSPs, MPUs and FPGas. These units are AEC-Q100 Grade 2 compliant, operate at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +105°C, are PPAP compliant, and are manufactured in IATF 16949 certified production facilities.

 

     It complies with the PCI-SIG PCIe Rev 2.1 standard to ensure system-level interoperability. At the component level, the pin aligns with Diodes' existing Grade 3 solution, thus providing an easy transition path and improving the performance of existing designs.

 

     Advanced features include integrated frequency buffers and support for point-to-point traffic, significantly increasing system performance. Low power operations are paired with linked power management, including active state power management L0 and L1, device state power management D0, D3Hot, and D3Cold. The L0 power consumption is 300mW (typical), which drops to 35mW in PCI-PM L1.1D3Hot PM substate mode.

 

     The packet passing through the switcher has a latency of 150ns (no blocking), and the delay tolerance report improves platform power management. The default is passthrough mode, but save and transfer mode is also supported. Enable peer-to-peer traffic with access Control service support.
