Diodes general purpose high speed cross switcher

     Diodes introduces PI3DBS16222 cross switcher for high-speed differential and serial signals. The product is an almost universal solution optimized for the latest communication protocols to deliver high-speed signals up to 20Gbps around high-performance electronic devices ranging from personal computers and mobile devices to network switcher backboards and advanced test tools.

     With the increasing use of high-speed serial and differential communication protocols such as PCIe® 4.0, ThunderboltTM 3, SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps and 10 GBase-KR, there is a growing need for more efficient solutions that can switch and wind signals around the PCB board. And these solutions should be able to operate between both connectors and integrated circuits. These signals currently transmit at speeds up to 20Gbps, so any solution must operate without compromising signal integrity or causing delays or errors.

     The PI3DBS16222 is a 4-channel differential cross switcher with pass-through mode in a 2 x 2 topology configuration. The product has four differential pairings on the input side and four pairings on the output side, switching each input pair between two output pairings with a single control signal and providing high impedance input/output isolation through a separate enabling input.

     The unit is available in a 2.5mm x 4.5mm TQFN package and a 2mm x 4mm X1QFN package option. The compact PI3DBS16222 is ideal for mobile applications where space is limited. The PI3DBS16222 operates at speeds up to 20Gbps and has excellent signal integrity, meeting the standards of all major communication protocols today. Diodes used silicon on Insulator (SOI) technology to significantly reduce the impact of parasitic capacitance inside the device and directly improve performance.
