
Diodes Corporation consolidates its position in the linear ReDriver™ IC market with the introduction of the 1.8V PI2DPX1066, PI2DPX1217 and PI2DPX1263. These components are suitable for a range of product applications, including laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, docking stations, game consoles, displays and virtual reality devices, use lower power supply voltages and consume less power than competing products. Meet the growing demand for USB Type-C® and DisplayPort™ 2.0 (DP2.0) ReDriver signal Repeaters in consumer electronics, computing and communications.
The PI2DPX1066 and PI2DPX1217 are highly energy efficient, 1.8V rated 4-to-4 channel ReDrivers signal Repeaters for USB Type-C and can support data rates of 10Gbps per channel. Both devices have four modes: SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps, SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps, SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps/ 2-wire DP1.4/DP2.0 (UHBR10), and 4-wire DP1.4/DP2.0 (UHBR10).
The new USB Type-C ReDriver signal repeater is configured via the respective I2C interface, so 16 equalizer Settings and 4 leveling gain Settings are available. These protocol-free devices have channel link tuning transparency, exhibit latency of less than 300ps, and achieve signal integrity parameters in the field of linear ReDriver signal Repeaters. The PI2DPX1066 is powered on in a high impedance safe state for laptop product applications, while the PI2DPX1217 reverts to a preset USB bypass state when powered on for smartphone product applications.
Also rated at 1.8V, the PI2DPX1263 is a 4-channel linear ReDriver signal repeater for DP2.0 and DP1.4 systems. Like PI2DPX1066 and PI2DPX1217, the maximum data rate is 10Gbps. The supported DisplayPort transmission modes include UHBR10 (DP2.0 10Gbps), HBR3 (DP1.4 8.1Gbps), HBR2 (DP1.2 5.4Gbps), and HBR (DP1.1 2.7Gbps). And RBR (DP1.0 1.62Gbps). The I2C interface provides equalizer and leveling gain adjustment to compensate for channel losses, eliminate inter-symbol interference (ISI) jitter, and maintain the highest level of signal integrity.
Diodes' ReDriver signal repeater offers engineers an excellent combination of features, including low power operation, smaller size (no large number of pins) and considerable product application flexibility due to its signal integrity adjustment ability. All three ics support an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, providing power-saving operation in idle, unplugged, or deactivated states.
