Diodes Corporation further expands its video passive multiplexer/demultiplexer switch portfolio with the introduction of the 4-channel PI3WVR14412. This 2:1/1:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer device supports speeds of up to 20Gbps, which exceeds other products on the market and is 35% faster than what the competition offers.
The PI3WVR14412 is fully compliant with the DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI2.1 interface standards found in the latest generation graphics processor units (Gpus). The main products are mobile workstations, game consoles, docking systems, laptop computers, monitors, TV sets and set-top boxes.
The PI3WVR14412 can transmit 4K high resolution (HD) and 8K ultra-high resolution (UHD) video signals with very low signal attenuation. This loop can be transmitted from two signal sources to one receiver, or vice versa, from one signal source to two receivers.
Diodes Incorporated applies exclusive technology to speed up the PI3WVR14412. The device's high-speed channels also maintain industry-leading signal integrity. When operating at 10GHz, the insertion loss is -2dB and the return loss is -10dB. At this frequency, the crosstalk between channels is only -35dB and the turn-off isolation is -15dB. The bit-to-bit offset is usually only 5ps.
Two-way communication via AUX channel. This means that other protocols such as USB 2.0 can be supported without additional cabling to the host, reducing the overall system cost. A wide input signal voltage range (0V to 3.6V) allows direct coupling of HDMI at VDD bias and DP signals at 0 bias. Reducing the use of passive components also reduces the space required for the board. Hot insertion detection (HPD) and Display Data Channel (DDC) are also added, eliminating the need for external multiplexers. The product also supports a wide temperature range from 0°C to 105°C.
