Diodes introduces PI3WVR648GEAEX five-channel MIPI 2:1 switch

     Diodes announced the introduction of the PI3WVR648GEAEX five-channel MIPI 2:1 switch, capable of switching physical layers that comply with the C-PHY or D-PHY serial interface specification (as defined by industry standard specifications) for smart phone image sensors and cameras, as well as mobile product application displays.

     As smartphone and portable device manufacturers combine camera modules with higher resolution and speed, the need to support high speed (HS) MIPI increases. However, in battery-powered applications, support for low power consumption (LP) MIPI is equally important. The PI3WVR648GEAEX supports HS and LP MIPI, allowing the connection module to switch between the two standards without latency or signal decay issues.

     The PI3WVR648GEAEX can be quickly switched between five channels and configured for 10 channels in a single-pole dual-throw configuration. 2:1 multitasking can be quickly switched between HS and LP MIPI physical interfaces. The general use is to connect two MIPI-compliant devices to a single module with a C-PHY or D-PHY interface, such as a smartphone with multiple cameras.

     The PI3WVR648GEAEX can support four data channels with one frequency channel in the D-PHY, or three data channels in the C-PHY, maintaining data rates of up to 4.5Gbps (D-PHY) and 3.5Gsps (C-PHY). It also provides a total bandwidth of 6.0GHz, as well as -28dB low crosstalk and -23dB off isolation at 2.25GHz.

     The PI3WVR648GEAEX uses the 36-pin WLCSP. The maximum transfer latency of PI3WVR648GEAEX switching HS and LP PHY specifications is only 0.25ns. The supply voltage ranges from 1.5V to 5V for operation and has a 5Ω switching on-resistance for HS and LP MIPI signals.
