Diodes introduces a range of USB ReDrivers for the industrial, embedded and consumer markets

     Diodes Incorporated introduced a series of USB ReDrivers for the industrial, embedded, and consumer markets. The PI3EQX1004E and PI3EQX1002E are compatible with USB 3.2, 5Gbps to 10Gbps, 2-port / 1-port, linear ReDrivers. These devices provide adjustable linear equalization, output swing, and flat gain to optimize the performance of a variety of physical media by reducing intersymbol interference. They are the smallest ReDrivers in the industry and save board space by using packaging that is 64% smaller than its traditional counterparts. Target applications include laptops, tablets, desktops, and gaming devices.

     A ReDriver, also known as a repeater IC, regenerates signals to improve the signal quality of high-speed interfaces. Faster signal frequencies allow designers to design reliable, high-performance systems with less signal margin. Using equalization, pre-weighting, and other techniques, a single ReDriver can adjust and correct known channel losses in the transmitter and restore signal integrity in the receiver. This enables reliable communication with a low bit error rate (BER).

     The PI3EQX1004E/1002E is manufactured with patented diode technology, which allows them to extend PCB tracking length while minimizing cost and power consumption. Linear Red River can also provide lower latency. The PI3EQX1004E requires a supply voltage of 3.3V±0.3V and is powered by 34 contact UQFN (4.5mm x 2.5mm) and the PI3EQX1002E is powered by 24 contact UQFN (2.5mm x 2.5mm).
