Diodes announced the AP22913 2.0A single-channel controlled rotation rate load switchers with Actual Reverse Current barrier (TRCB) for high-side load switching applications. AP22913 options include AP22913CN4-7 in the X-WLB0909-4 package and AP22913W6-7 in the SOT26 package, both in units of 1,000.
Single-channel high-side load switchers provide an efficient way to power or depower loads, especially for detachable peripherals powered via USB ports. Large output capacitors (100µF) associated with USB ports and self-powered USB peripherals can cause reverse bias in the load switchers, which can cause reverse current to flow from the load to the source, causing damage to other components or active transmission lines. The AP22913A load switcher, combined with the TRCB function, eliminates current paths that are not required by normal body diodes, providing a cost-effective and space-saving solution for load switching.
With load currents up to 2.0A and a wide operating voltage range, the AP22913 is designed to deliver 92mΩ standard RDS(ON) at 1.5V and 54mΩ standard RDS(ON) at 5.0V. This maximizes load current handling capacity and reduces forward voltage drop. The device can internally control the on-turn rate to provide a slow start function for sensitive loads, while having a high-state effective enabling input that can switch loads. To ensure that the TRCB function is turned off during device downtime, the VIN and VOUT ends are completely isolated inside the device.
Capable of operating at voltages from 1.4V to 5.5V and losing only 1µA of static current, the AP22913 load switter is ideal for 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5.0V systems. With a maximum load current of 2.0A, the AP22913 is ideal for a wide range of product applications, such as smartphones, portable devices, wearable devices, medical devices, navigation devices, as well as laptops and ultra-portable mobile PCS.
