Diodes Incorporated introduces the AL1678 series of LED drivers suitable for driving non-dimming LED modified bulbs in general lighting products that do not require a power factor higher than 0.7.

     Diodes Incorporated introduces the AL1678 series of LED drivers suitable for driving non-dimming LED modified bulbs in general lighting products that do not require a power factor higher than 0.7. These 500V buck converter LED drivers deliver up to 15W of output power across all bus voltages for A variety of LED lighting applications such as A/B/P lamps and GU10 lamps, reducing total circuit material costs while ensuring high performance.

 

     The AL1678 series is available in the SO-7 package and offers a variety of 500V MOSFETs in different current ratings, allowing designers to select the most suitable driver to meet the watt and cost requirements of different bulbs.

 

     The new driver family improves driver topology for significant circuit flexibility, as well as precise constant current linearity and load regulation over a common input range of 85VAC to 277VAC. In addition, the device reduces electromagnetic interference by adopting a critical on-mode, and the efficiency is more than 90%, which is more compatible with electromagnetic compatibility.

 

     The total material cost of the AL1678 LED driver is low because there is no need for external high-voltage MOSFETs and auxiliary winding, and only a single external inductor is required. Its integrated protection features include undervoltage latching, overtemperature protection, LED open and short circuit protection, and thermal reentry to help improve the reliability of LED modified lighting systems at high temperatures. The device's SO-7 package enhances electrical insulation and moisture resistance.
