Diodes introduces synchronous step-down converter with 40V rated voltage in line with vehicle specifications

     Diodes announced that it has added new members to its DC-DC converter series that meet the vehicle specifications. The AP64060Q is a 600mA synchronous step-down converter with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 40V. It integrates 600m Ω high side power MOSFET and 300m Ω low side power MOSFET, which can provide efficient buck conversion (efficiency up to 90%), and occupies the smallest PCB board space. AP64060Q is specially designed for automobile power system, infotainment system and instrument components, as well as external lighting of vehicles.

     AP64060Q has very low static current (IQ), usually only 90 μ A. Therefore, the light load efficiency can be improved. Since the device supports fast switching frequency (2MHz), smaller matching inductors and capacitors can be selected. Its synchronous rectification requires no external Schottky diode, and the use of peak current mode control and built-in loop compensation network further reduces the overall use of components.

     AP64060Q uses a proprietary gate driver to reduce the ringing generated when switching nodes without affecting the opening and closing time of MOSFETs. Thus, the high-frequency radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise caused by MOSFET switching can be reduced.

     The operating ambient temperature range of AP64060Q is - 40 ° C to+125 ° C. The protection functions include overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and thermal shutdown. The device is packaged with exquisite TSOT26. It also complies with AEC-Q100 Grade 1 specification, can support PPAP documents, and is manufactured in production facilities certified by IATF 16949 standard.
