Diodes announced the launch of two flexible, high-speed, automotive compliant voltage converters for ambient temperatures up to 125°C. The PI4ULS5V108Q and PI4ULS5V202Q are designed for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment and telematics devices.
Both devices are compatible with push-pull and drain open connections, providing a convenient single part number for a wide range of product applications. In addition, bidirectional elasticity combines automatic directional sensing to simplify potential conversion between bus interfaces such as SMBus, PMBus, or I2C devices by eliminating the need for directional control signals.
The 8-channel PI4ULS5V108Q can perform a boost conversion of up to 100MHz and a buck conversion of more than 100MHz, and the response efficiency can meet the needs of high data transmission rate interfaces. Designers can ensure that high-speed switching across SPI or other interfaces is not limited by potential conversion, and that data transfer between SoC and peripheral device components is performed at optimal efficiency.
The PI4ULS5V202Q is a 2-channel converter with an internal 10kΩ pull-up resistor for direct connection to an interface with an open drain topology, such as the I2C port. The maximum voltage conversion range from 1.2V to 5.5V provides flexibility to match various I2C chip and circuit designs. The PI4ULS5V202Q has a high-speed click detector at the IC input, which not only has fast rise and fall times, but also supports data transfer rates of up to 20Mbps.
Both units are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 compliant, PPAP compliant and manufactured in IATF 16949 certified production facilities. The PI4ULS5V108Q is packaged with TSSOP-20, and the PI4ULS5V202Q is packaged with SOP-8.
