ECS Inc. International, a global leader in innovation in the design and manufacture of silicon-based frequency control products, announced the addition of three new products to its market-leading fixed-frequency quartz crystal oscillator portfolio: Ultra-small ECX-2033-AU, ultra-small ECX-53B-CKM quartz crystal and ultra-small ECX-1247 quartz crystal. All three frequency control products are now available.
All three ultra-small products are excellent products for space-constrained applications, where boards and enclosed Spaces are at a premium and BOM costs must be significantly reduced. In addition, all three products are ideal candidates for today's high-efficiency surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing environments.
Herb Chaney, CEO of ECS China, said: "Miniaturization is an absolute necessity in many electronics industries today, a requirement that creates special challenges for design engineers, and ultra-precision, ultra-stable clock solutions are in high demand in several high-growth market segments where rigorous quality and reliability are Paramount." ECS-2033-AU SMD crystal oscillator
In a fixed frequency design, the ECX-2033-AU subminiature +3.3V SMD crystal oscillator is available in a 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.9 mm (L/W/H) ceramic package, and the AU model has ±100 ppm frequency stability over an extremely wide operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
ECX-53B-CKM quartz crystal
The ECX-53B-CKM microminiature SMD crystal comes in a 5 x 3.2 x 0.85 mm (L/W/H) ceramic package with extremely strict tolerance and stability. The CKM model has a frequency tolerance of ±10 ppm @ +25°C and a frequency stability of ±10 ppm over a temperature range of -20 to +70°C.
ECX-1247 quartz crystal
The ECX-1247 subminiature SMD crystal is available as an option for extended temperature range in a 1.6 x 1.2 x 0.35 mm (L/W/H) ceramic package with a frequency tolerance of ±20 ppm @ +25°C in the standard model. It has a frequency stability of ±20 ppm in the temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
Applications for these products include mobile devices, where consumer-driven ultra-portable devices such as tablets, smartphones and small laptops continue to be strong growth markets, as well as automotive electronics, industrial control and automation, and wireless communications markets, particularly low-power wireless implementations. For example, the IEEE 802.15.4 standard includes ZigBee. All of these market segments are in high growth mode, and ECS offers three new fixed frequency crystal oscillators designed to meet the stringent requirements of its next generation of products.

All three new products are fully compliant with European Union (EU) RoHS 2 and REACH requirements, and in each case the ceramic package has a moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) 1 rating and the pin finish is gold (Au).
