Epson RX4901CE and RX8901CE are high precision RTC modules with built-in temperature compensation

     Epson's RX8901CE and RX4901CE are low-power, multi-functional, high-precision real-time clock modules that are ideal for smart meters, security devices and smart lighting applications. An integrated event system with up to three event inputs detects events and records their time stamps while the MCU is in sleep mode, thereby reducing system power consumption to extend battery life.

     These modules can record the timestamp of 32 events in FIFO or direct mode. They consume only 240 nA on a 3 V power supply and have a built-in power switching circuit that eliminates the need for external diodes and thus no loss. These modules provide a temporal resolution as low as 1/1024th of a second and are highly stable throughout their operating temperature range. The RX8901CE has an I2C interface, while the RX4901CE provides a 3 - or 4-wire SPI.
