Exar, a leading provider of high-performance integrated circuit and system solutions, has announced the release of a four-way programmable universal PMIC-XR77129 for the operating voltage range of 6V to 40V. Its patented control architecture with 17-bit wide PID voltage input feedforward is ideal for the 40V input voltage range.
The controller offers a single input voltage, four output voltage rails, a step-down controller with integrated MOSFET gate drive and dual LDO outputs. The product can also monitor power status in real time via the I2C bus and dynamically control output voltage parameters. Five configurable GPIOs can be used for status indication and timing control to accelerate power system design.
The XRP77129 uses the Exar design tool PowerArchitectTM and the SMBus-compatible I2C bus to quickly design a power supply suitable for any complex system such as FPGA, SOC or DSP. PowerArchitect 5.2 has been upgraded to support external divider resistors for the design of power systems with output voltages exceeding their own 0.6V to 5.5V. The XR77129's wide input voltage, 450uA(static) and low static current of 4mA(active) make it ideal for industrial automation and embedded applications with a wide input voltage range, including 18V to 36VDC, 24VDC or AC rectification systems!
