Excelitas Technologies Launches Enhanced CIPRM Series Balanced Receiver

     Excelitas Technologies Corp introduced an enhanced CIPRM coherent InGaAs PIN balance receiver module. The upgraded CIPRM integrates two low noise photodiodes with very matched responsivity to ensure a 30dB high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR). It also redesigns the housing to enhance electromagnetic immunity and improve signal to noise ratio (SNR).

     The high-performance InGaAs photodiode and low noise, high gain transimpedance amplifier of this enhanced product provide a practical solution to detect small changes in the incident optical signal that are higher than the interference background noise. Its advantage is to offset common optical noise. The CIPRM module adopts a solid shell with flange mounting holes, which can fix the module to the working surface or platform. Combined with a wide operating temperature range, CIPRM can work in the most difficult and harsh environments, such as wind lidar applications.

     The upgraded CIPRM has two optical inputs (- 1 single-mode optical fiber and - 2 FC connector), a RF output, a power input and two optical current monitoring outputs. The design and manufacture of Excelitas optical balance receiver module series fully comply with EU RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU.
