FLIR introduces smart thermal sensor solutions for industrial monitoring and skin temperature rise screening

     FLIR Systems announced the launch of the FLIR A400/A700 Thermal Smart Sensor and Thermal Image Streaming stationary thermal camera solutions for monitoring equipment, production lines, critical infrastructure, and equipment. And screen for elevated skin temperatures. These highly configurable, intelligent thermal camera systems provide accurate, contact-free temperature monitoring across a wide range of disciplines: manufacturing process control, product development, emissions monitoring, waste management, facility maintenance, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) improvement.

     The first FLIR A400/A700 thermal smart sensor solutions will prioritize users dealing with COVID-19. Suitable for all applications, the family offers multiple image streams, edge computing, and Wi-Fi connectivity to help speed data flow and make faster decisions, which in turn increases productivity and safety for professionals.

     FLIR has designed the A400/A700 thermal camera in two configurations to better meet the needs of specific applications. The smart thermal sensor configuration recommended for measuring elevated skin temperatures combines advanced temperature measurement tools and alerts with edge computing capabilities to help make important decisions faster. The image flow configuration provides a variety of heat flow capabilities to help optimize process control, improve quality assurance, or identify potential failures that could lead to production line shutdowns.

     When designing the system, users can choose between a smart sensor or image stream configuration, choose the A400 or A700 thermal camera body based on the desired resolution, and then add lenses and a range of optional features to match the respective application.

     In addition, FLIR is currently beta testing an automated skin temperature rise screening software solution that can be fully integrated with a FDA-certified thermal imager. The solution is designed to quickly improve the accuracy, ease and speed of existing screening procedures.
