FTDI Chip's FT4232HA High speed USB to UART/MPSSE IC. The FT4232HA is a car-standard USB 2.0 to UART adapter IC that seamlessly provides high-speed USB support for target designs. With four separate configurable interfaces, the FT4232HA device provides a highly flexible solution for a range of automotive and general USB applications, including smart card readers, industrial controls, media player interfaces and set-top box interfaces.

FTDI Chip FT4232HA USB to UART/MPSSE IC, supporting a variety of configurations of the single chip USB to four serial ports. Two of the device's four configurable interfaces can be configured in UART, JTAG, SPI, I²C or Bit-Bang mode, using MPSSE with independent baud rate generator, while the remaining two interfaces can be configured in UART or Bit-Bang mode.

The highly durable FT4232HA device is suitable for a range of automotive applications and complies with AEC Class 2 standards with operating temperatures ranging from -40°C to +105°C. The IC also features low operating current and USB suspend current, and supports bus-powered, self-powered, and bus-powered high-power USB configurations.

For ease of development, Maoze also offers the FT4232HA Mini module, a small evaluation board with a pre-installed FT4232HB and onboard USB port for easy connection to a PC. The evaluation module also includes two 26-pin double-row connectors for easy connection to the PCB connector socket and ribbon cable.
