Flex Power Module introduces miniature DC-DC converters for industrial applications

     Flex Power Modules has introduced its latest family of miniature DC-DC converters for industrial applications: PUA-A, PUC-B, and PUB-M. These new devices are isolated converters that provide up to 1W of output power without minimum load. At full load, their typical efficiencies are 84% (PUA-A), 80% (PUC-B), and 81% (PUB-M). Input-output isolation voltages are 2000V (PUA-A), 6000V (PUC-B), and 3000V (PUB-M). These converters operate in a wide temperature range of -40 ° C to 100 ° C (PUA-A and PUC-B) and -40 ° C to 110 ° C (PUB-M), respectively. To avoid damage, they include output short-circuit protection.

     These new converters provide the reliability and durability required for harsh environments in industrial applications, and are rated at 17.9 million hours between failures (MTBF) for the PUB-M, 15Mh for the PUC-B and 13.1Mh for the PUA-A. It complies with EN/UL 62368-1 safety standards and Flex power modules are an ISO 9001/14001 certified supplier.

     These devices are available in industry-standard packages. The PUA-A is a SIP4 device with a size of 11.5×6×10mm (0.45×0.23×0.36in). The PU-B is packaged in SIP7 and measures 19.7×7.1×11.5mm (0.78×0.28×0.45in), while the PUB-M is a surface mount device (SMD) with a single-output version measuring 12.75×11.2×6.6mm (0.5×0.441×0.26in). The dual-output version is 15.25×11.2×6.6mm (0.6×0.441×0.26in).
