Flex Power Modules introduces an ultra-small digital non-isolated IBC with a 4:1 conversion ratio

     Flex Power Modules has announced the launch of the BMR314, a non-isolated DC/DC converter with a fixed 4:1 down-conversion ratio for intermediate bus applications. This high power density component delivers 800 W continuous power and 1.5 kW peak power in an industry-standard ultra-compact package measuring only 23.4 x 17.8 x 9.6 mm. The input voltage range of the product is 38-60 VDC (peak 68 VDC), and the output voltage range is 9.5-15 VDC.

     The BMR314 uses a controller developed by Flex Power Modules in conjunction with leading semiconductor manufacturer Onsemi for applications such as powering point-of-load (PoL) converters in AI and data communication centers. In this type of application scenario, there may be peak load and space is extremely limited, so energy saving is important. This is possible thanks to the BMR314's 97.4 percent peak efficiency and thin package design optimized for cold wall cooling.

     The BMR314 offers up to 70 A of output current and full protection against overtemperature, input undervoltage, and output overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit. The product provides you with comprehensive control and monitoring through the PMBus interface and is supported by the Flex Power Designer software tool for easy configuration, performance simulation and monitoring.

     According to the calculation criteria of Telcordia SR-332 Issue 4 Method 1, the MTBF (mean troublefree operating time) of the BMR314 at +40°C is 7.49 million hours. The product operates in the temperature range from -20°C to +125°C at designated hot spot locations and provides timed warnings and overtemperature shutdowns to ensure minimum stress, especially under peak load conditions.

     The BMR314 comes in an industry-standard package and pin arrangement with LGA terminals for use as a surface mount device. The product meets the safety requirements of IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 for non-isolated converters and meets the "Class B" conducted EMI (electromagnetic interference) limits of EN 55032/CISPR 32/FCC Part 15J in addition to a simple filter. If you need higher power levels, consider the released BMR313, which comes in the same package.
