Flex Power Modules introduces the PNA series of analog non-isolated point PoL converters

     Flex Power Modules has now announced the PNA family of analog non-isolated Point Load (PoL) converters, which provide excellent efficiency and heat dissipation performance in a small form factor. Its small size and wide input voltage range from 9V to 36V mean it is ideal for a range of industrial applications including robotics, factory automation and process control, and is suitable for both 12V and 24V power systems.

     The converter has a 95.3% high efficiency at full load at 12V input and 5.5V output, thus reducing power consumption and cooling requirements. It offers adjustable outputs from 0.9V to 5.5V with a maximum output current of 6A to provide a maximum power output of 33W.

     The PNA series has good thermal performance and can operate at full load at ambient temperatures above 100 ° C. Its operating temperature range is -40℃ to +125℃. in order to save board space, the PNA series is designed with a small size, 13mm×12.35mm×6.2mm (0.51in×0.48in×0.24in). This can support PCB back mounting, further reducing space requirements. The converter is competitively priced and offers an attractive price/performance ratio. It provides a mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 71.84 million hours.

     Its voltage tracking function allows one converter to use the output voltage of another as a reference, and thus follow its output voltage on and off. In this way, the power-on sequence design of each device is simplified. The converter also includes a power supply good (PG) function for further control of timing; In addition, it supports timing based soft boot.

     The PNA series can be synchronized with other module power supplies with an external clock, which means that it does not experience beat phenomenon, so that the beat ripple current is not reflected back to the input power supply.
