Flex Power module offers a cost-effective 4-8A ultra-small PoL regulator

     Flex Power Modules' new PMU8000 series Point of Load (PoL) converters offer an excellent price/performance ratio in a compact flat package. The new regulator has a typical efficiency of up to 95.3% at half-load and excellent heat dissipation performance, so it can be used in harsh conditions.

     These ultra-small regulators have loop optimization capabilities that allow design engineers to optimize their load transient response for different capacitive loads, increasing the flexibility of system design. They also provide configurable soft start or trace functionality, which allows for a more flexible and easy timing design.

     In order to save a lot of space, the regulator comes in a very small package with a size of only 7.5mm×7.5mm×5.4mm. They support bottom assembly, which means customers can take advantage of this design feature to further save a lot of space.

     There are three models in the new series, each with a different maximum output current. The output of the PMU8218 is up to 4A/22W, the output of the PMU8318 is up to 6A/33W, and the output of the PMU8418 is up to 8A/44W. Each device has an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V and an input voltage range of 4.5V to 17V.

     These new PoL regulators are ideal for a variety of power conversion applications, such as powering FPGas, ASics, network processors, cpus, and  Gpus used in industries as diverse as ICT (telecommunications and data communications), industrial, test and measurement, Internet of Things (IoT), rail, and medical.
