Flex Power module offers ultra-wide input DC-DC converters for industrial and railway applications

     Flex Power Modules now launches the PKE-A series of DC-DC power modules for the industrial and rail industries, expanding its product range to meet the growing needs of these industries. The module is sealed and enclosed to ensure that it works reliably when subjected to dust, moisture, violent vibration and other harsh conditions.

     For industrial applications, the PKE8000A series offers highly reliable, high-performance and rugged DC-DC solutions in an industry-standard 2 x 1 in. form factor. Thanks to its ultra-wide input range of 9 to 75V (8:1), it can operate at 12V, 24V or 48V supply voltages. The series offers up to 40W of output power with 91% efficiency, an average time to failure (MTBF) of up to 4 million hours and 2250VDC input-output isolation. These devices comply with the latest IEC/EN/UL62368-1 safety standards.

     For rail applications, the PKE7000A series comes in the same 2 x 1in industry standard package, but this time with 43 to 160V inputs and up to 30W output. As such, it is suitable for most on-board requirements for 72V and/or 110V nominal power supplies, which are most common in the railway industry. The device complies with EN50155 railway standards and its MTBF of up to 5 million hours can meet the requirements of the most demanding applications.
