GCT further expanded its USB product range with the introduction of the elevated USB Type-C socket USB4800.the surface mount USB4800 features 16 pins to meet USB 2.0 specifications for power and data, and is designed with a centerline 3.5 mm above the PCB surface. A potential advantage of the elevation is the ability to use components with less than 1.6 mm of space below the connector.
In addition, the raised height makes the product more aesthetically pleasing when installed with other I/O products, such as USB Type-A and HDMI, in a typical case arrangement.
This top-mounted product is rated at 5 A and features four through-hole shell posts for excellent PCB retention and stability. In addition, the product has been tested 10,000 times, making it ideal for demanding applications.
