Harting launches a new series of rectangular plastic connectors

     With the increasing modularity of equipment and systems, the size of machines used in the industrial sector is getting smaller and smaller. What is needed is a compact, modular, and durable connection for small loads. Harting is catering to this trend with the Han 1A. Rectangular connectors have many advantages: they are suitable for the transmission of data, signals and power, and provide an ideal solution for control systems, small drives and switchgear installations.

     The housings, inserts and cable seals of the new product range are made of high-performance plastic, so the connectors are lightweight. The Han 1A is smaller than all previous Han solutions. Compared to the smallest rectangular connector series to date, the Han® 3A, the space requirement is reduced by approximately one third.

     The modular design of the Han 1A allows for maximum flexibility in a wide range of applications. With just a few design elements, solutions can be developed for a wide range of tasks. Power ratings up to 16 A/400 V, up to 12 signal contacts per connector, and the ability to transmit data at 10 Gbps (Super Class 6) rates.

     The new connector series can provide appropriate solutions according to customer requirements. As a result, users can choose between classic metal clip locks and latches that are integrated into the housing. In addition, the connection technology also provides two options: screw connection and crimp connection.

     In addition, a variety of practical accessories enhance flexibility. The Han 1A system can be converted from an IP20 solution to an IP65 connector for harsh industrial environments in a matter of seconds using components such as cable connectors or single-wire seals.
