Harwin adds more shielding options for Gecko Hi rel connectors

     Harwin has introduced a horizontal rear housing for the Gecko Screw Lok (Gecko SL) series of lightweight, high reliability (Hi rel) connectors, which can ensure the full EMI/RFI shielding of the horizontal 1.25 mm spacing plate to the cable connection. The previously released Gecko EMI/RFI shield is only suitable for vertical board to cable connections. The new products introduced this time have very high value for applications that require EMI/RFI protection but have little space for installing connectors/cables, including satellites and CubeSats, unmanned aerial vehicles, robots, medical equipment and high-density industrial systems.

     There are two variants of the horizontal rear housing released this time. The first one has rear panel mounting lugs, and the second one does not include these. All rear housings are compatible with Gecko SL horizontal bulkhead connector (with standard male and female locking) and Gecko MT hybrid layout connector (with power and data transmission capabilities).

     These top mounted rear housings are fixed independently rather than directly to the connector. Therefore, it can be added during the construction phase as well as the initial design concept phase. They can withstand the same high vibration, shock and extreme temperature as other products of Gecko series, and are ideal for applications in harsh or extreme environments.
