Harwin extends Archer Kontrol's board-to-board industrial connector

     Harwin expands Archer Kontrol's portfolio of board-to-board industrial connectors to meet cable-to-board connection requirements. Based on customer feedback, Harwin has just launched an off-the-shelf IDC cable assembly option for use with existing discrete connector components. These products can now be purchased directly from stock through Harwin's global network of distributors.

     All of these components are fitted with an all-band cable with female connectors at both ends, making it easier for engineers to install the Archer Kontrol unit into the system. Ready-made cable length is 150mm or 300mm, other lengths of cable can also be provided according to customer's request, delivery time can be agreed according to the request. IDC designs provide engineers with flat, highly flexible solutions that bend to a greater degree to fit tight space requirements. The orientation of the horizontal cable outlet also saves large space above the connector.

     The new cable assembly supports all contact numbers in the existing connector series (12, 16, 20, 26, 32, 40, 50, 68 and 80). To provide greater durability, the contact area is deposited with a gold sputtering coating. An efficient latching mechanism ensures that the cable is locked, resists vibration, and prevents accidental disconnections. These components are optimized for modern industrial Settings and can handle data rates up to 3Gbits/s.

     Over the past two years, Archer Kontrol connectors have received a lot of industry attention for industrial drives, factory automation systems, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), robotics, rugged handheld devices, and other applications. These connectors demonstrate extreme resistance to the harsh conditions of vibration, mechanical shock, high humidity and extreme temperatures that are common in modern industrial environments. In addition, its protected contacts prevent potential damage from mismatches and ensure continuous interconnect integrity.
