Harwin extends Datamate Mix-Tek series connector housings and contacts

     Harwin expands the range of the Datamate Mix-Tek series of high-reliability connectors, making the supply chain more streamlined and responsive. Oems can now choose cable housing for these 2.00mm and 4.00mm pitch connectors without having to worry about installing contacts, so they don't have to be limited to a few predefined kits. This makes it easy for customers to consider more contact options in Harwin's portfolio, allowing them to more quickly determine the right shell-contact combination for their requirements and be able to receive orders quickly.

     Purchasing connector housings and contacts separately, rather than as a complete package, has great logistical advantages. The OEM purchasing team can obtain a large number of required parts directly from inventory, thus avoiding any potential delivery time issues. After that, the production staff can assemble specific housing contact parts as required. The housing is designed to accommodate all coaxial and power contacts and comes with a range of different threaded fixtures including standard polarity, reverse fixtures and guide pin panel mounts.

     The new features of the Datamate Mix-Tek product range have the same performance parameters as the kits and pre-assembled units. Loose contacts can be selected from coaxial cable (50Ω, rated up to 6GHz), or power contacts up to 20A and 40A for a variety of cable sizes. A range of housing options also feature a variety of technologies, with signal contacts capable of supporting 3A data signals. Harwin currently offers crimp and assembly tool products that support these housings and contacts.

     When assembled, the connector provides strong shock and vibration resistance and covers a wide operating temperature range of -55 to + 125 ° C. These characteristics enable them to meet the demanding requirements of avionics, satellite, medical, robotics and industry, as well as motor racing and electric vehicle (EV) engine control and battery systems. In addition, they can support 500 plug and unplug cycles, thus ensuring a longer service life.
