Harwin introduces off-the-shelf cable assemblies for Datamate connectors

     In order to provide customers with simple plug and play solutions, Harwin has now launched a range of off-the-shelf cable assemblies for use with the popular Datamate series of high-reliability connectors. Available in single-ended or double-ended formats with set cable lengths of 150 mm (6 inches), these time-saving components are destined to have considerable market potential. These components will provide customers with the fast, trouble-free assistance they need for cabling without having to rely on their own in-house resources or make a costly and significant investment in custom design.

     These components, which include signal (Datamate J-Tek/L-Tek) and power (Datamate Mix-Tek) configurations, can be ordered directly from Mouser stock, thus eliminating long lead times, and they are cost-effective in nature. Especially suitable for one-off prototyping or small batch projects.

     Each component in the series is manufactured in accordance with IPC-A-620 standards for wiring harnesses and cables and is subjected to rigorous electrical testing, as well as thorough inspections during and after production. The cables used are PTFE insulated, the signal cables are equipped with 24AWG specification device wires, and the power cables are equipped with 10AWG or 12AWG specification wires capable of supporting 40A or 20A currents.

     As the Datamate connector is located at the heart of these components, continuous interconnection robustness is always ensured. They have industry-leading impact resistance (100G, 6ms), vibration resistance (10G, 6 hours, 2 hours/axis) and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures (-55 ° C to + 125 ° C) and can withstand up to 500 insertions. As a result, Harwin's off-the-shelf components are robust enough to be deployed in the most challenging application environments, including space, avionics, industrial drive/control, robotics and motorsports.
