STMicroelectronics VIPERGAN65 high-voltage converter is an advanced quasi resonant off-line high-voltage converter with E-mode GaN HEMT. VIPERGAN65 is designed for medium power quasi resonant ZVS (zero voltage switching when the switch is on) flyback converter, providing up to 65W output power in a wide range.

     The STMicroelectronics VIPERGAN65 HV converter is an advanced quasi-resonant offline HV converter with an E-mode GaN HEMT. The VIPERGAN65 is designed for use with medium-power quasi-resonant ZVS (zero voltage switch when switch on) flyback converters, providing up to 65W output power over a wide range. The VIPERGAN65 integrates a suite of features to provide an extremely flexible, easy-to-use chip to help design efficient offline power supplies.

 

     STM VIPERGAN65 HV converter can operate with ZVS quasi resonant operation, with dynamic de-crypting time option and valley synchronization function, can always open the power switch at the valley value of drain resonance. This operation reduces switching losses and maximizes overall efficiency under any input line and load conditions. The device's advanced power management features low static current for low standby power consumption. Feedforward compensation reduces the maximum output peak power variation over the entire input voltage range.

 

     In addition, VIPERGAN65 demonstrates protective features for the above functions that can significantly improve the safety and reliability of the final product, including: Output overvoltage protection, overheat protection (OTP), overload protection (OLP), power on/power off protection (setting the input voltage level to power on and off the converter), and input overvoltage protection (iOVP) - protects the system in the event of an abnormal increase in the input line voltage. All protection functions are in self-start mode.
