Hirose's BM23 fpc to Board connectors are available in two types, "FR" signal contacts and "PF" mixed signal/power contacts

     Hirose Electric has expanded its miniature BM23 series fpc to board connectors to include a standard signal version and a hybrid connector version that provides both signal and power contacts. Designed for portable electronic devices requiring high transfer speeds and rugged performance, the BM23 Series connectors feature a miniature design that offers significant space savings in digital cameras, portable audio players, portable gaming devices, laptops, smartphones, tablets, wearables and more.

     The BM23PF series hybrid connectors feature signal contacts rated at 0.3 A and power contacts rated at 5 A. The BM23PF version is available in a stack height of 0.8mm with contact options of 10,14,20,24,30,40,42,46, and 54.Only the BM23FR version is rated 0.3A for standard signal. The BM23FR is available in two stack heights, including 0.6mm and 0.8mm. 0.8mm stack height is available at 10,18, and 60 contacts. Height is 0.6 mm stack in 6,8,10,12,16,20,24,30,30,40, and 50 contacts.

     Both the BM23PF and BM23FR versions support USB 3.1 Gen 2 and offer transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps. With only 0.35mm pitch, 1.98mm depth and fast transfer speeds, the low-key BM23 series FPC-to-board connector offers unique design flexibility to further miniaturize portable devices.The connector features a rugged design with a metal solder retainer that provides strong PCB retention by absorbing and reducing stress caused by drop shocks. This metal tag also prevents housing damage if the connector is wrong and helps provide 90 N breaking strength, which is up to three times more than other products on the market. The sturdy metal lock provides a clear tactile click, preventing any unintentional disconnection.

     The BM23 series fpc to board connector features a highly reliable two-point "U" shaped contact design where socket contacts surround the entire head contact to ensure stable and repeatable performance. The BM23 series adopts guide ribs, which can automatically align 0.4 mm in pitch direction and 0.3 mm in width direction, making the operation easy and convenient. The BM23 series connectors have a rated voltage of 30 V AC/DC and a rated current of 0.3 a, a maximum contact resistance of 100 milliohms, a minimum insulation resistance of 50 milliohms, and operating temperatures of -55°C to +85°C.
