Hirose's FX27 series card edge connectors are widely used in industrial and automotive applications

     Hirose Electric's FX27 Series 0.8mm pitch board-to-board connectors allow for flexible stacking heights by simply changing the length of the printed circuit board (PCB) jack, eliminating the need for different height connectors. The FX27 connector features an increased XY axis floating range compared to previous high speed FunctionMAX series connectors. Now supporting a ± 1.2mm floating range in the X and Y directions, these connectors absorb stress due to misalignment while tightening screws and shrinking PCBS due to heat.

     The FX27 Series high-speed card edge connectors also have a wide self-aligning range of ± 0.7mm in the X and Y directions. Floating contacts and self-calibrating designs simplify the assembly process and offer time and cost savings, especially when fitting multiple connectors on the same board. A friction lock on one side ensures that the insert plate is retained on the desired connector when it does not fit. Supporting the PCI Express Gen 1 interface standard, this family provides data transfer speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. When used as stack connectors, their stack height, wiring, and component installation are customizable. Conductors with flexible height adjustment are also available to transmit power.

     The board to board connector's dual beam contact design provides a self-cleaning feature. The first beam removes dust from the contact path, ensuring an ultra-reliable contact path for the second beam. The contacts on both sockets are enclosed in the housing, providing advanced dust protection. This feature also reduces the risk of dust adhesion due to solder waste and flux during installation.

     The FX27 series operates in environments ranging from -55°C to +105°C, including temperature rise through current flow, and provides 0.5 a current per pin capacity. The recommended PCB layout is 60 locations for installation, insertion, and clipping design. In addition to industrial and automotive environments, the series is designed for a wide range of applications, including base stations, servo drivers, servers, servo motors, cash registers, ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, PLCS, and more.
