Honeywell launched AQ7 series of high-performance gas sensors for ambient air quality monitoring

Honeywell has introduced the AQ7 family of gas sensors, which offer high resolution, low detection limits and are highly compatible with a wide range of ambient air quality (AAQ) monitoring applications. Because four-electrode electrochemical technology is highly sensitive to low gas concentrations in the ppb range, this AQ7 series gas sensor can achieve high precision detection and has excellent gas specificity.

     While technological progress improves people's living standards, it also brings about various serious environmental problems. These include a variety of chemical pollutants released into the atmosphere, which will lead to global and local environmental problems such as the greenhouse effect, ward syndrome and ozone depletion, and may cause serious harm in a short time. With the growth of public environmental awareness and health demand, the demand for various high-performance, low-cost gas monitoring solutions has also increased significantly.

 

     Honeywell has long focused on the research and development of environmental air pollution monitoring technologies, including automobile exhaust emissions, solid fuel combustion, smoke generated by vegetation fires, wind blown dust, pollen and mold spores. In order to meet various new gas sensing and detection challenges, Honeywell R&D personnel are constantly committed to providing high-resolution, compact, robust, accurate and reliable gas sensors for non industrial environmental applications.

 

     Honeywell recently launched AQ7 series gas sensors, which have high resolution, low detection limit and can be highly adapted to various ambient air quality (AAQ) monitoring applications. As the four electrode electrochemical technology is highly sensitive to the low gas concentration within the ppb range, the AQ7 series gas sensor can achieve highly accurate detection and has excellent gas specificity.

 

     The response capability of AQ7 series (AQ7CO, AQ7ND, AQ7OZ and AQ7SO2) gas sensors largely depends on environmental conditions, including changes in relative humidity and temperature. Continuous environmental changes will have a short-term impact on the reliability of the sensor (such as sensitivity and baseline shift), and will also have a long-term impact on its performance (such as inherent changes in electrolyte concentration).

 

     In order to ensure the high resolution of the sensor, Honeywell provides parameters that can be customized separately for each gas sensor. For example, even if the target gas is the same, two ozone sensors may have different parameters. Users can input the parameters of each sensor into their sensing system, establish appropriate environmental compensation for the sensor, and then correlate with the outputs of other sensors to provide maximum accuracy for the overall perceived environment.

 

     AQ7 series gas sensors have the lowest sensor sensitivity attenuation in their entire life cycle, and are the most stable and reliable gas sensors for environmental applications in the current market. Because it has separate sensor parameters, users can compensate the environmental impact through algorithms.

 

     The compact design of Honeywell AQ7 series gas sensors makes them ideal for portable ambient air quality monitoring applications. They have a wide gas detection range and extremely low detection limit, can provide high signal-to-noise ratio at a low detection limit, and can provide full compensation for temperature and humidity through baseline shift. In combination with their high adaptability to various ambient air quality monitoring applications, AQ7 series gas sensors are expected to become an ideal choice for various air quality monitoring applications.
