Honeywell recently launched AQ7 series gas sensors, which have high resolution, low detection limit and can be highly adapted to various ambient air quality (AAQ) monitoring applications. As the four electrode electrochemical technology is highly sensitive to the low gas concentration within the ppb range, the AQ7 series gas sensor can achieve highly accurate detection and has excellent gas specificity.
The response capability of AQ7 series (AQ7CO, AQ7ND, AQ7OZ and AQ7SO2) gas sensors largely depends on environmental conditions, including changes in relative humidity and temperature. Continuous environmental changes will have a short-term impact on the reliability of the sensor (such as sensitivity and baseline shift), and will also have a long-term impact on its performance (such as inherent changes in electrolyte concentration).
In order to ensure the high resolution of the sensor, Honeywell provides parameters that can be customized separately for each gas sensor. For example, even if the target gas is the same, two ozone sensors may have different parameters. Users can input the parameters of each sensor into their sensing system, establish appropriate environmental compensation for the sensor, and then correlate with the outputs of other sensors to provide maximum accuracy for the overall perceived environment.
AQ7 series gas sensors have the lowest sensor sensitivity attenuation in their entire life cycle, and are the most stable and reliable gas sensors for environmental applications in the current market. Because it has separate sensor parameters, users can compensate the environmental impact through algorithms.
The compact design of Honeywell AQ7 series gas sensors makes them ideal for portable ambient air quality monitoring applications.
