IXYS, Littelfuse Technology hot shutdown and current limiting single-pole, normally open relay

     IXYS, Littelfuse Technology CPC1511, current limiting 1-FORMa normally open solid-state relay (SSR), replaces electromechanical equipment while improving the performance of switching applications. The 230v CPC1511 is manufactured with an optically isolated control input and an integrated monolithic mode output current. Manufactured using ICD's HVIC SOI technology, the device is an integrated power driver with active power current limiting and thermal shutdown circuits and a power MOSFET switch.

     The CPC1511 incorporates a thermal shutdown circuit to improve survivability in harsh environments and is designed to provide appropriate overvoltage protection by regulating voltage surge requirements. The device is designed for demanding AC or DC applications where printed circuit board space is at a premium and additional power supplies are not available. Once the fault condition is eliminated, the active current limiting and thermal shutdown functions provide automatic restoration to the appropriate switching state, as determined by the input control current. This fail-safe circuit provides excellent robustness in high pressure switching environments.

     The CPC1511 relay provides current to limit one-way DC applications in addition to typical AC applications. This current-limiting 1-Form-A normally open SSR is ideal for general power switching applications such as instrumentation, Internet of Things products, industrial controls, peripherals, security and medical devices. Its main features include built-in current-limiting protection circuit, hot shutdown, linear AC/DC operation, low power consumption, clean, no-jump switch and extended life of electromechanical relays.
