Infineon launched a new TRENCHSTOP packaged with TO-247-3-HCC 5 WR6 series

     Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. has launched a new 650 V TRENCHSTOP 5 WR6 series with separate packaging. This series adopts TO-247-3-HCC packaging, which can achieve a rich product portfolio with rated currents of 20 A, 30 A, 40 A, 50 A, 60 A and 70 A respectively. It can easily replace the previous generation technologies, such as Infineon TRENCHSTOP 5 WR5 and HighSpeed 3 H3 technologies. The series is optimized for power factor correction (PFC) for household and commercial air conditioning systems and welding applications.

     TRENCHSTOP 5 WR6 switch can achieve extremely low conduction loss (30 A, 1.45 V at 25 ° C) and minimum switching loss (30 A, 1.55 mJ at 175 ° C). They have an extremely low saturation voltage of 1.45 V (V CE (sat)) and integrated reverse conducting diodes with forward voltage optimization for the target application. This allows the series to achieve lower bill of materials costs while providing best in class performance. In addition, the device also has the performance advantages of the previous generation products (i.e. TRENCHSTOP 5 WR5 series).

     WR6 series adopts a new TO-247-3-HCC package, which increases the creepage distance and electrical clearance, and improves the rated insulation voltage. Therefore, this series can realize more reliable system design and prevent pollution and condensation, which is a problem often encountered in outdoor air conditioning and other applications. In addition, TRENCHSTOP 5 WR6 series can also reduce the total cost of ownership of the system, lower the failure rate, and achieve higher switching frequency in applications.
