Infineon Launches Industry's First AEC-Q103 Qualified High-Performance XENSIVTM MEMS Microphone for Automotive

     Infineon Technologies AG presents the XENSIV IM67D130A. The new device combines Infineon's expertise in the automotive industry with leading technology in high-end MEMS microphones to meet the needs of automotive applications for high-performance, low-noise MEMS microphones. The XENSIV™ IM67D130A is the first microphone on the market to be certified for automotive applications, which will help simplify design efforts and reduce the risk of certification failure.

     The microphone's operating temperature range is from -40°C to +105°C, making it suitable for a variety of harsh automotive environments. Featuring a high Acoustic Overload Point (AOP) of 130 dB SPL, this product can capture distortion-free audio signals in noisy environments. Therefore, the IM67D130A is ideal for cabin applications such as hands-free systems, emergency calls, in-cabin communications and active noise cancellation (ANC). Not only that, but the product is also ideal for exterior automotive applications such as sirens or road condition detection. The above features make this product an auxiliary sensor for advanced driver assistance systems and predictive maintenance.

     Combining a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 67 dB with ultra-low distortion, this microphone provides the best speech quality and outstanding voice interaction intelligence for speech recognition applications. In addition, the product features a compact sensitivity match that provides optimized beamforming algorithms for multi-microphone arrays. The XENSIV MEMS microphone IM67D130A is fully AEC-Q103-003 qualified for automotive applications.
