Infineon announces automotion-grade MEMS microphones for active noise reduction

Infineon is currently expanding its portfolio of automotive grade MEMS microphones with the release of the XENSIV family of MEMS microphones: the IM68A130A. This MEMS microphone has a flat frequency response to frequencies below 10Hz. It builds on the successful launch of Infineon's first automotion-grade digital MEMS microphone, the IM67D130A, and combines Infineon's automotive expertise with its technical experience in high-end MEMS microphones.

     For Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) systems with analog interfaces, Infineon Technologies AG is currently expanding its portfolio of automotive-grade MEMS microphones with the release of the XENSIV series of MEMS microphones: IM68A130A. This MEMS microphone has a flat frequency response to frequencies below 10Hz. It builds on the successful launch of Infineon's first automotion-grade digital MEMS microphone, the IM67D130A, and combines Infineon's automotive expertise with its technical experience in high-end MEMS microphones.

 

     The new MEMS microphone IM68A130A features a flat frequency response, stable phase response, and extremely low frequency roll down (LFRO = 10Hz). The high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR = 68dB(A)) and excellent acoustic overload point (AOP = 130 dBSPL) provide excellent speech performance, making it the perfect product for a general-purpose MEMS microphone in any audio system. Active noise reduction applications are achieved by strategically integrating MEMS microphones inside or outside the cabin to detect sound in the cabin and then generating reverse sound waves through audio speakers to reduce the sound level in the cabin.

 

     Infineon's new MEMS microphones comply with the AEC-Q103-003 standard and meet the requirements of the automotive industry. This helps reduce the effort and risk of failure in module and system certification. The product is available throughout the typical life cycle of the vehicle, saving design work and the development of platform solutions. In addition, its extended operating temperature range of up to +105 ° C allows for flexible use in a variety of application environments both inside and outside the vehicle.
