Infineon announces new 8 Mbit and 16 Mbit EXCELON F-RAM non-volatile memory

Infineon Technologies announced its latest 8 Mbit and 16 Mbit EXCELON ™ F-RAM memory (ferroelectric access memory) began to be supplied in bulk. This series of memory is the serial F-RAM memory with the highest power density in the industry, which can meet the requirements of the new generation of automotive and industrial systems for nonvolatile data recording and prevent data loss in harsh working environment.

     Infineon Technologies has announced the start of batch delivery of its latest 8 Mbit and 16 Mbit EXCELON™ F-RAM memory (ferroelectric access memory). This series of memory is the highest power density serial F-RAM memory in the industry, which can meet the needs of the next generation of automotive and industrial systems for non-volatile data recording, preventing data loss in harsh operating environments. The new memory operates in a voltage range of 1.71 V to 3.6 V, supports data throughput of up to 54MBps with a low pin number interface, and is packaged in a 24-ball FBGA RoHs-compliant package.

 

     Ramesh Chettuvetty, Head of RAM product line, Automotive Electronics Division, Infineon Technologies, said: "With increasing automation and the rapid growth of the sensor market for the Internet of Things, the market is placing higher demands on memory for higher density and accurate and immediate data acquisition in the event of power failure to meet data recording requirements. Infineon's new EXCELON F-RAM product enables critical data acquisition to be performed efficiently and accurately while maintaining ultra-low power consumption. Therefore, this product is ideal for factory automation solutions and automotive EDRs (event data recording systems)."

 

     Infineon's EXCELON F-RAM is a new generation of ferroelectric access memory. With ultra-low power mode and high-speed interface, real-time non-volatile and infinite number of read/write cycles, the new product becomes the industry's most low-power mission-critical non-volatile memory. The read/write performance of the serial memory is comparable to that of the static memory with parallel interface and battery power, and the access time is 35 nanoseconds. With fast write speeds, superior durability and industry-leading energy efficiency, EXCELON F-RAM is the preferred data recording memory for automotive, industrial and medical applications.
