The iot ecosystem and connected devices unlock new service offerings and peripheral services. However, prior to the deployment of an iot system, the prototyping process using sensors for iot use cases consumes significant resources. To help hardware and software engineers develop iot devices, Infineon Technologies AG has launched a new iot sensor platform, the XENSIV™ Connected Sensor Suite (CSK), designed to accelerate prototype creation and the development of customized iot solutions.
"One of the biggest challenges facing customers today is how to integrate sensors, microcontrollers and secure connectivity," said Laurent Remont, vice president of iot and Sensor Solutions at Infineon Technologies' Power and Sensing Systems Division. To this end, Infineon has developed the XENSIV™ Connected Sensor Suite to accelerate the prototyping of iot connected sensors. "With the combination of hardware and software, this suite can help customers significantly reduce time to market for iot products."
The connected sensor suite integrates a variety of XENSIV sensors with the built-in PSoC™ 6 microcontroller for energy efficiency and high processing power for many advanced use cases. The suite provides secure connectivity with the OPTIGA™Trust M security chip. Its development board modules are designed to be size-compatible with Adafruit and provide prototyping solutions for a variety of sensor use cases, such as battery-powered smart home applications. In a 10-minute Internet of Things experience video, the sensor suite uses Infineon products to create a plug and play sensor solution and quickly visualize the data.
In addition, the Infineon Sensor Cloud Dashboard simplifies the user interface through AWS's cloud services architecture, making rapid prototyping easier. At the same time, it can be rapidly expanded according to the actual deployment situation, and provides a unified control interface that can monitor multiple devices at the same time. All components of this connected sensor suite come with code samples and code libraries from ModusToolbox™. ModusToolbox™ is an important part of the Infineon software ecosystem, enabling customers to proof-of-concept specific feature development and accelerate product development through the creation of a variety of new sensor application scenarios.
